We wanted to provide you
with updated information about how Blue Cross and Blue Shield of
Nebraska is processing claims related to coronavirus (COVID-19)
As we communicated to
you on March 13, appropriate medically necessary diagnostic testing
for COVID-19 will be paid without member cost share for all members
covered under a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska medical
plan, where it is not covered as part of the Public Health Service
Please note that in
accordance with recent federal legislation, in addition to the
COVID-19 testing kit, swab and interpretation of the test, the
related office/urgent care/emergency room visit will also be paid
without member cost share.
As a reminder, medically
necessary treatment of COVID-19 will be payable subject to the
plan's usual deductible, coinsurance and copay amounts.
